Spud Gun x Melbot: GodsTV® Animated Series Coming Soon
We have teamed up with the brilliant minds at Melbot Studios to bring their wild, irreverent new game GodsTV to life as an original animated series.
If you have seen the game, you will know why we are excited. It is packed with bizarre characters, chaotic storylines, and a gleefully absurd sense of humour that feels right at home with what we do at Mashed.
Here is what our Managing Director, Tom Payne, had to say:
“We were blown away by GodsTV the moment it came into our orbit. The characters and storylines feel instantly unique and exciting. We are incredibly excited to now be officially working with the creative forces behind the game and help bring it to life through original animation. Our audience is going to love it.”
And from Melbot’s Creative Director, Josema Roig:
“GodsTV is a passion project for Melbot and finding passionate partners is a blast. Their love for humour, irreverence and the absurd makes us feel right at home with Spud Gun. We can feel this partnership could become something truly special within the indie game sphere.”
About GodsTV
GodsTV is a madcap, high risk and high reward top down roguelike smashfest where a motley crew of clout chasing misfits battle it out to make it BIG on intergalactic TV.
Set in a future where alien megacorporations have grown into god like overlords, these all powerful entities have created the ultimate reality show that is part arena battle and part house share chaos. Competitors fight, flirt and backstab their way to fame while discovering strange powers, unpredictable alliances and exactly how many times they can come back from the dead.
Or as Melbot puts it: Take your favourite top down roguelike, throw it into a messed up Adult Swim style universe, dip it in pure cartoon punk and give it a generous sprinkle of controller thumb candy.
In GodsTV, Fame is Fate®.
We will share more soon about the animated series and when you can watch it. In the meantime you can check out the GodsTV Kickstarter which is ending soon, add the game to your wishlist on Steam, and get ready for something gloriously ridiculous.
